I also want to explore avenues of "realism". A soft-class system where there isn't much commitment and where you can pick anything up and fight. The aim of this post is to come up with a system that complements the strengths of Dungeon Siege. How would item requirements be determined, based on attributes (DS1) or skills (DS2)? Would hybrid classes work like they did in DS2:BW, or like in DS1 where fighters could easily switch to Ranged, or Mages could easily finish off enemies with Melee attacks when at low Mana? Would armour be based off of Strength, or Melee skill? I have come up with several combinations and I'd like to hear your opinions about it, as well as new ideas that are better than mine^^ As I explain some stuff other topics will come in so I hope it doesnt get too convoluted. (This is a long post! You have been warned!) I've been giving this a lot of thought: "How would skills look like in DS4?" Or we could just say "an ideal Dungeon Siege" instead of DS4.
